High frequency words in English textbooks for Indonesian senior high schools

This content analysis study focused on three main purposes, including to analyse the High Frequency Words (HFWs) of Dolch’s list in reading texts from English textbooks Indonesian senior high schools, language features HFWs textbooks, and propose strategies that can be used teaching HFWs. The were grouped into types recount text, narrative descriptive text. further analysed using an online word-counter find out texts. findings show there 124 words found as mostly articles, prepositions, pronouns, nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, conjunctions. Those most frequent should known by students. Moreover, each text varied according its context Hence, some could applied facilitate teachers HFWs, such word card strategy direct strategy, so their students master implication this also suggested textbook writers provide additional
